 >Automotive Engineering

 > Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering Experience will encompass activities that will engage students in all aspects of the industry and in particular real world projects. This will include geotechnical and structural engineering, construction materials, computer drawing and modelling, water and hydraulics, and land surveying. The activities will involve both theory and significant practical aspects of the amazing world of civil engineering and its role in society.

 > Chemistry
Investigate the chemical transformations of elements, make glass, fires, explosives, industrial analysis, plastics and recycling.

 > Computer Engineering
Do you think the world wide web is all about Twitter and Trademe?  Come along and find out what else you can do on the Internet.

 > Driving Simulation
We will research how technology aids such as computer controlled anti-lock brakes, stability control and traction control feel to a car driver. Using a race-car sourced data-logger (MoTec) data from a driving simulator will be analysed to research the effects of participants driving style on tyre wear, fuel economy and speed. This research will be carried out on six desktop workstations with Momo and Logitech force feedback wheels, pedals and gear shifters.

A driver's license is not essential but would be helpful.

 > Electronic Engineering
Construct the circuit (with soldering iron), make sure it works and then start serious playtime. You don't even have to remember your best score. The system does that for you.

 > Food Technology
Food manufacturing, packaging and analysis. A close up look at the way some foods behave and an opportunity to make your own personal brand of cheese.

 > Haemotology
Find out about medical laboratory science as a career. Investigate some of the techniques used in hospital laboratories and learn how to do a blood group analysis.

 > Marine Ecology
A close-up encounter with some of the sea creatures from around Auckland. Learn about the lives of some interesting organisms and find out more about the fast growing world of aquaculture.

 > Mechatronics
Introduction to Robotic:  Using the RoboExp robot car.  In this session you will have a close encounter with our Robo-Express robot car. Discover how to programme the cars using a block-diagram programming tool.  Configure the robot to use a number of sensors to detect and avoid obstacles, and be able to find and follow a path.

 > Medical Science & Human Measurement
Investigate human anatomy and physiology. Try some dissections. Try out a number of machines and apparatus used to measure human body function.
